Governor Jim Douglas is outspending his Democratic opponent 2-1 on media advertising in recent weeks.
Figures on file at the Vermont Secretary of State’s office show the Republican Douglas has spent more than $108,000 on media buys in the past two weeks, while Democrat Gaye Symington has spent a bit more than $54,000.
The reports showed both easily outpacing independent Anthony Pollina, who spent a bit less than $4,000 on mass media during the period.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie spent $35,000 during the same period, while his Democratic challenger, Tom Costello, spent a bit less than $23,000.
