Construction is starting on the busiest section of Interstate 89 in Vermont.

Drivers should expect delays between exits 13 and 14 in South Burlington while the culvert under the four lanes is replaced.

Transportation officials expect to keep all lanes open during the day but the speed limit will be reduced to 45 miles an hour in the work zone. Lanes will be reduced at night.

The work was scheduled to start in March but a recent inspection found that the deteriorating culvert needed to be replaced before the winter.

The work is expected to run through November.
