Vermont Emergency Management has set up emergency shelters for people whose homes are cold due to a lack of power.

Shelters were opened at the Leahy Center at the Rutland Regional Medical Center, Brandon Fire Department, Leicester Town Hall, at the Ascutney Fire Department and the Perkinsville Elementary School.

Emergency management was also warning of possible flooding in low-lying areas.
They were urging people living in such areas to be on the alert for rising waters.
