More than 120 skiers and riders were evacuated from a chairlift at a Vermont ski area over the weekend after a lift derailed.
WCAX-TV says the incident happened midday Saturday on Pico Mountain Ski Area’s Summit Express Quad. Pico officials say a lift derailed at the loading terminal.
The entire evacuation took about two hours to complete. Pico says there were no reports of injuries and the evacuations went smoothly.
A state investigator was on scene to determine the cause of the derailment. The ski area’s website says the lift has reopened.
