Brattleboro Area Community Action has won funding to open Vermont’s first official evening child care center. Organizers expect the new center will help some people return to work or enter the workforce for the first time.
The center is due to open next year. It will provide care until midnight for up to 30 children ages newborn to 12 years. Organizers say child care is one of the largest obstacles for people who work in restaurants, movie theaters and other establishments that are open at night.
