Extreme cold arrives in northern New England

Vermonters will be waking up to another day of frigid temperatures as below-zero cold and stiff winds is continuing to make for dangerous conditions outside.

Wind chill figures were to dip to 20 below in some parts of the state as the cold snap settled in.

Night skiing was cancelled through Friday at Bolton Valley ski resort in Bolton for fear that skiers could freeze in the event of a lift malfunction.

The National Weather Service says temperatures could dip to 16 below zero tonight.
