(Host) Fletcher Allen Health Care is promising to take “appropriate action” if an investigation finds hospital officials deliberately tried to circumvent state regulations.

The chairman of the board of trustees says he takes the allegations seriously that Fletcher Allen deliberately tried to avoid regulatory approval for a $50 million parking garage. Yesterday the state released sworn testimony from former Fletcher Allen executive David Cox that he was urged by hospital management to figure out a way to keep the parking garage off the hospital’s books.
