Family members of the Vermont National Guard members on their way home from Iraq are breathing a big sigh of relief.

Almost 400 soldiers of Task Force Saber have left the Iraqi city of Ramadi are headed to Kuwait.

In a few days they’ll fly to Mississippi for demobilization and then back to Vermont.

Six members of Task Force Saber were killed in Ramadi and a number wounded.

Laura Gregoire of Swanton says she doesn’t think it will feel real until she sees her husband get off the plane.

With Task Force Saber out of Iraq, the number of Vermont Guardsmen serving in Iraq is at its lowest point in years.
