The Vermont office of the United States Attorney will be monitoring next Tuesday’s elections for fraud and voting rights abuses.

U.S. Attorney Thomas Anderson says a deputy has been designated to serve as the Election District Officer as part of the Justice Department’s Election Day Program.

Career prosecutor John Conroy will be responsible for overseeing the handling of complaints of election fraud and abuse.

Both Anderson and Conroy will be on duty while polls are open in Vermont.

The FBI will also have agents available to receive allegations of fraud and abuse.

The Vermont effort is part of the Justice Department’s nationwide Ballot Access and Voting Integrity Initiative.
