The number of passengers boarding outgoing flights at Vermont’s main commercial airport was down slightly in 2011 from a year earlier, and down sharply from three years earlier.
Burlington International Airport tracks the number of people boarding flights and says a bit more than 648,000 passengers did so in 2011. That was down by about 3,000 from a year earlier.
But it’s down more than 100,000 from the airport’s peak year of 2008. More than 759,000 passengers boarded planes at Burlington that year.
