The fired town manager in St. Johnsbury is asking a judge to give him his job back.
Town Manager Ralph Nelson was fired earlier this month following a no confidence vote by the board, but no reason has been given publicly.
Nelson has sued to get his job back.
The complaint says Nelson and the board had a difficult relationship after two new members joined the board after Town Meeting Day.
The complaint says some members of the board were upset with the way he handled a disciplinary matter involving a police captain.
St. Johnsbury Attorney Kyle Sipples tells the Caledonian Record the town is ready to defend itself.
