Vermont Emergency Management is encouraging all Vermonters to prepare for power outages during what’s expected to be the season’s first significant snowfall.

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain, high winds or wet, heavy snow through Wednesday.
Emergency officials say the storm could cause localized flooding and make driving conditions hazardous.
The winds and heavy wet snow could lead to widespread power outages.

People with special needs and the elderly are urged to contact their local power company to alert them of those needs.
