Fletcher Allen Health Care reported an increase in operating revenue in the quarter that ended June 30 but the increase was short of what the hospital had expected.

The Burlington hospital reported operating income of $1.4 million. The increase was $3.7 million below budget. Hospital spokesman Mike Noble attributed the shortfall to fewer visits and not enough revenue expected from admitted patients.

The hospital reported an operating margin of one percent for the quarter.
