Arnie Malina, the artistic director for Burlington’s Flynn Center, is stepping down. He will be retiring at the end of January.

Malina became artistic director for the Flynn and for the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival in 1997. He oversaw a number of changes to the institution, including the addition of the FlynnSpace, now home to more intimate jazz, dance and theater performances. Before his retirement, he will continue to help program the Flynn’s 2012-2013 season.

Arnie Malina lives in Burlington, and spoke with VPR’s Neal Charnoff in our Colchester studios.
