A former altar boy is offering to donate a $3.6 million priest sex abuse award, if the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington posts the photos of pedophile priests on its Website.
Forty-three-year-old David Navari says he also wants the diocese to defrock those priests and stop paying their retirement.
Navari made the offer Wednesday after a jury returned the verdict following a two-week trial.
He claimed the diocese failed to protect him from a priest who was known to molest children.
Bishop Salvatore Matano apologized for the abuse. Matano says he’d be willing to hear more about Navari’s offer.
The diocese is expected to appeal the latest verdict.
