While most chocolate makers buy chocolate wholesale and then melt it down and add their own twist, husband and wife team Andrew and Stephanie Jackson buy whole cocoa beans from select farmers in Bali, Peru, and Ecuador.

They run Middlebury Chocolates and can often be found there making chocolate, running the retail shop, and hanging out with their two little kids. 

VPR’s Jane Lindholm stopped by to get a taste-er, lesson, in how they go from bean to bar.
