The Vermont man charged with killing his boss at a Brattleboro co-op is due to go on trial in January.
Richard Gagnon, the former wine manager at the Brattleboro Co-op, is charged with first degree murder in the August 2011 shooting death of assistant manager Michael Martin.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports that during a court hearing Monday, Superior Court Judge David Suntag set a January trial date. The trial is expected to last three weeks.
In April, Gagnon’s attorney argued her client was suffering from "diminished capacity" when he allegedly killed Martin.
At the time of the shooting, Gagnon was carrying a copy of an unfavorable employment evaluation.
If convicted, Gagnon faces up to life in prison.
