Barre police are searching for the person who threw a full bottle of water at a basketball game yesterday that injured a girl from Vergennes.
The girl was hit in the head by the bottle and needed three stitches to close a laceration.
Police say the bottle was thrown during the final minutes of the girls’ division two playoff game between Vergennes and Lamoille Union High School.
The bottle was thrown from the top of the stands in an area where Lamoille fans were congregated.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Barre police at 476-6613.
