Vermont veterans have been recognized for the first time with newly designed medals.

Adjutant General Martha Rainville presented the Vermont Veterans Medal to Rollin “Jack” Grace today at the Vermont Veterans Home. Grace is 102 years old and served in the U.S. Army Cavalry along the U.S.-Mexico border during World War I.

Rainville also presented the Vermont Distinguished Service Medal to 71-year-old Lawrence Greenia. He’s a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Both men are residents of the veterans home.
