Guard members headed to Cuba

Fourteen Vermont Air National Guard members are due to leave later this week for six months service at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The Guard members will help build infrastructure and repair facilities at the U.S. military base in Cuba.

The 14 engineers from the 158th Civil Engineer Squadron will join one Vermont Air National Guard member already in Cuba.

The Vermonters will be joining service members from five other groups to form the 474th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron.
