About 30 Vermont National Guard members are back in the United States today after a year in Afghanistan.
The soldiers of Task Force Catamount arrived in Fort Stewart, Georgia, early this morning for several days of processing before they return to Vermont.
They have been away for more than a year training the Afghan Army.
One member of Task Force Catamount was killed in combat. Master Sergeant Tom Stone of Tunbridge was killed during a fire fight in March.
