A 50-year-old Hartford man is being held on $100,000 bail following his arrest in connection with a bank robbery and an attempted robbery of another bank.
Police say John Fenley Jr. was arrested Friday after they found more than $2,000 of stolen money at his home.
Officials say Fenley was wearing a red hat, a taped-on mustache and a wig with long blond hair when he robbed a People’s United Bank branch on Thursday afternoon. After fleeing the bank the robber was seen getting into a pickup truck driven by another man.
Police say earlier that day, Fenley went into a Mascoma Savings Bank branch wearing a disguise, but left without incident.
Police are seeking an arrest warrant for a second suspect who lives out of state.
