New Hampshire Congressman Paul Hodes is asking for a U.S. Border Patrol station to be placed in Colebrook.

In a letter to U.S. Customs and Border Protection commissioner Ralph Basham, Hodes says the new station could bring in an estimated $3 million into the local economy and create 62 jobs in the areas of construction, retail, service and industrial sectors during the construction period, plus additional revenue afterward.

Hodes says the Colebrook area faces economic challenges stemming from relative geographic isolation, aging infrastructure, and loss of population.
