Howard’s Friendly Market changes hands

A Barre grocery store that has been owned by the same family for 99 years is getting a new owner. Howard’s Friendly Market announced today it is being sold to the Hannaford Brothers of Scarborough, Maine. Hannaford plans to expand the store by about 50% and add several new sections.
