This time of year, as temperatures turn frosty, area wineries begin producing Ice Wine. The decadent, sweet, dessert wine requires grapes to be frozen while they are pressed, and because yields can be so low, a typical bottle, about half the size of a regular bottle of wine, costs around sixty-dollars. At Boyden Valley Winery in Cambridge, vintner Dave Boyden is in his third year of producing the specialty wine. VPR’s Sarah Ashworth stopped by for a visit and to learn how ice wine is made.
