The first professional baseball games of the 2006 season are in the books,just as the confounding, upset-ridden NCAA mens’ basketball tournament comes to an end with the Florida Gators claiming the crown as the nation’s top collegiate squad. It’s a time of transition in the season and in sports.

Alex Wolff is a columnist for Sports Illustrated and President and GM of Vermont’s new minor league basketball team the Frost Heaves. He spoke with Mitch Wertlieb about the Frost Heaves, the NCAA tournament, the NBA finals and the steroid scandals effect on professional and Olympic sports.
