A new novel by Montpelier author Thomas Christopher Greene explores young love and dangerous obsession.

“Envious Moon” follows the story of Anthony Lopes, a 17-year-old Portuguese fisherman in a small Rhode Island coastal village.

During a nighttime robbery of one of the area’s resort homes, Anthony is confronted by a beautiful young girl named Hannah, and her father.

Hannah’s father is accidentally killed during the robbery, and Anthony escapes. Yet he searches out Hannah, who doesn’t recognize him, and they begin their star-crossed journey to find out what it means to love, and be loved.

VPR’s Neal Charnoff spoke with Greene in our Montpelier studios.

Note: Green will appear at Briggs Carriage Bookstore in Brandon, tonight at 7:00pm.
