For the next 5 years, what you eat, where it comes from, how much of it will be produced and what it will cost will be largely defined by the farm reauthorization bill.

That key legislation is earmarked for a makeover on September 30th, and Dan Imhoff says the weeks leading up to that date are critical for anyone who cares about food.

Dan Imhoff is the author of the book Food Fight: A Citizen’s Guide to a Food and Farm Bill . He’ll be joining environmentalist and author Bill McKibben later this week at the Vermont Law School to talk about issues related to the Farm Bill.

Imhoff says he wrote about the Farm Bill to simplify what he says special interests would like to see kept a complicated piece of legislation:
