The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is showing great promise for smaller businesses, with measures designed to unlock credit markets.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is changing the way it does business, reducing fees, guaranteeing a greater share of some loans, and expanding capacity of the micro-loan program.

But as we’ll hear from Darcy Carter-there’s a limited window of opportunity to take advantage of the new incentives.

Carter is the Vermont Director of the U.S. SBA. She says while the SBA doesn’t directly loan money to businesses, they provide valuable guidance and advice to business owners…and provide guarantees of loans through local banks.
