Interview: Democratic House challenger Craig Hill

Incumbent Congressman Peter Welch so far doesn’t have to worry about a Republican challenger in the November general election, but he does face an opponent this Tuesday in the Democratic primary.

Craig Hill of Montpelier is running against Welch for the Democratic nomination, and says there are stark differences between them.

Hill says his own passion for politics emerged when he was just 14 years old, watching the 1964 political conventions on television.

Also running for Congress is Iraq War veteran Thomas Hermann of Barre, on the Progressive ticket, and Jane Newton of South Londonderry, running as a candidate of the Liberty Union Party. Both are un-opposed in Tuesday’s primary.
