Interview: Doug Anderson, “Working” director

The Middlebury Community players had a special guest in the audience this week to see their production of the play “Working”. Steven Schwartz wrote the play, based on the book by legendary journalist Studs Turkel, and was on hand to see the play. Schwartz also wrote the music for the play “Wicked”, the hit musical about the lives of the witches from Oz before Dorothy – literally – landed on the scene. Well, no one may have been more delighted to receive the visit from Schwartz than Doug Anderson, the director for the Middlebury Community Players’ production of “Working”. Doug Anderson is also the artistic director of Middlebury’s Town Hall Theater, and he talks with Mitch Wertlieb.
