(Host) Tonight is opening night for the 11th Annual Green Mountain Film Festival in Montpelier.

The festival is a showcase for international and regional film-makers, with several special events and discussions with notables from the film world.

Among this year’s special guests is Kathleen Carroll, who was the film critic for the New York Daily News for thirty years.

Carroll will appear tomorrow morning to discuss her career. She’ll also also provide commentary following an afternoon showing of Francois Truffuat’s "Day For Night", a behind-the-scenes look at movie-making.

Carroll spoke with VPR’s Neal Charnoff by phone from her home in New York City.
