Gary David Goldberg may not be a household name, but he left his mark on television as the writer and producer of several hit shows. His resume includes Family Ties, which ran for seven years and made a star of Michael J. Fox.

Goldberg was also the driving force behind the shows Spin City and Brooklyn Bridge.

Now living in southern Vermont, Goldberg has chronicled his unexpected showbiz career in a new memoir, Sit Ubu Sit: How I Went From Brooklyn to Hollywood with the Same Woman, the Same Dog, and A Lot Less Hair.

Gary David Goldberg spoke with VPR’s Neal Charnoff from our studios at Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester.
