The author of “Bridge to Terabithia” and The Great Gilly Hopkins has received one of the world’s most prestigious and lucrative awards for her children’s literature. Katherine Paterson lives and writes in Barre and is the 2006 winner of the Astrid Lindgren award from Sweden, named for the late author who wrote tales about the world’s strongest girl – Pippi Longstocking. She recently spoke with Mitch Wertlieb about winning the award.
