For many people throughout the region, June arrives not a moment too soon. It wasn’t just a matter of the colder-than-usual days and nights of May that caused so much dismay. It was the persistent rain of the past month that also created some problems for planters and gardeners.

Louise Calderwood is Vermont’s Deputy Secretary of Agriculture. She spoke with Mitch Wertlieb about the May weather and the outlook for summer.
