Perhaps no American diplomat is more qualified to ponder that question than Thomas Pickering, whose career as an ambassador has included posts in Jordan, Israel and the United Nations. This morning I asked Pickering how disruptive the latest suicide bombing in Jerusalem has been to the ongoing peace effort.
