It’s no longer much of a secret that oil is an expensive and dwindling commodity. But forgive Richard Heinburg if his reaction has a touch of “I told you so” in it. Heinburg has been warning for years about the coming peak in oil production and supply in books like The Party’s Over: Oil, War and the Fate of Irichard heinburgndustrial Societies.

He’s a Core Faculty Member at the new College of California, and he’ll be speaking tonight at the University of Vermont. He spoke with Mitch Wertlieb about his presentation called “Challenges and Opportunities at the End of Cheap Petroleum.”
