Plattsburgh native, John Lloyd Young recently won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Frankie Valli in “Jersey Boys” on Broadway which also won for Best Musical. “Jersey Boys” tells the story of how four rough kids went from the streets of Newark, New Jersey to the top of the charts with songs like “Sherry”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”

VPR’s Neal Charnoff talked with John Lloyd Young about his own journey from upstate New York to winning musical theater’s most prestigious award.
