For almost 4 decades the artist Wolf Kahn has created many of his colorful, modern works at his summer residence in Brattleboro. The 79-year old painter has works collected in some of the world’s great modern art museums including the Met and Whitney in New York, Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, and the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington.

But now for the first time a solo retrospective of his work is on display in his part-time hometown at the Brattleboro Museum and Arts Center. “Wolf Kahn: Landscape of Light ‘ is a collection of paintings spanning 5 decades, and provides a comprehensive range of Kahn’s growth through the years.

Mitch Wertlieb spoke with Wolf Kahn about his life and work, and what lured him to a life of artistic accomplishment from a very early age.
