Jamaicans part of harvesting tradition in Westminster

There’s one guest worker program for seasonal agricultural workers that’s been in existence for decades. In this state, people normally associate it with the Jamaicans who pick Vermont’s apple crops. Vpr’s Susan Keese caught up with a mixed group, of U.S. and Jamaican workers harvesting rutabagas at Harlow’s organic farm in Westminster. The first worker she spoke introduced himself as Headley. She followed him as he swung his machete through the leafy rows.
