Senator Jim Jeffords is recovering from knee replacement surgery at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland. He underwent surgery last Tuesday and is scheduled to be released from the hospital later this week.
Doctors have advised Jeffords that he won’t be able to travel for the next several weeks, which will prevent him from attending some scheduled events in Vermont.
