Keene, New Hampshire is getting a new veterans’ center and outreach clinic. The state’s congressional delegation has lobbied for months for the project.

Senator Judd Gregg says the clinic will increase access to quality care for veterans in the Monadnock region and represents a necessary expansion of the VA services in the state.

Congressman Paul Hodes said having a clinic in Keene honors New Hampshire veterans and shows a commitment to their service. Fellow Democrat Carol Shea-Porter said she is delighted, but hopes the VA continues down the path toward providing full-service health care in the state for New Hampshire veterans.

There is no word yet on when the Keene clinic will open. It will focus on mental health and counseling services, including counseling for soldiers returning to civilian life, as well as family and bereavement counseling.
