Officials say two chair lifts collided at Killington Resort leaving a child with an apparently minor hip injury.

The accident happened Sunday afternoon at the top of Bear Mountain after a wheel at a lift tower stopped turning, causing one chair lift to stall and get struck from behind by the other lift.

The child, who was not identified, was taken by ambulance to the Rutland hospital.

The lift, which was closed for the remainder of the day, was repaired and reopened Monday.
