Killington ski area finishing up renovations

The Killington ski area is going to be looking good when the snow starts to fly in the next few weeks.

The resort is finishing up more than $5 million in renovations.

Killington’s new owners are helping finance the renovations that range from the installation of more low-energy snowmaking guns to new carpeting in parts of the base lodge to new coats of paint across the resort.

Powdr Corp. and SP Land Co. bought Killington earlier this year from the American Skiing company, which has since gone out of business.

The improvement should be ready when the snow flies, which could come at any time.
