University of Vermont organist and music professor David Neiweem is in the midst of a three stop performance tour at churches in Burlington, Montpelier and Middlebury. At each location he’s playing a two organ concert with the church’s organist. And because most churches only have one organ, Neiweem brings along the university’s Klop 4-stop portable pipe organ.

Last week Neiweem stopped by the VPR studios for a live performance with Walter Parker on VPR Classical. But the day before, he arrived to set up the organ and let it acclimate to the studio’s humidity and temperature. That’s when VPR’s Sarah Ashworth met him and got an up close look at the unique organ.
