The Lake Champlain Maritime Museum is holding a series of special events Sept. 26-27 to celebrate Lake Champlain shipwrecks.

Nautical archaeologists will be on hand for special presentations and programs on Lake Champlain shipwrecks, including some of the latest explorations involving early steamboats, gunboats, sailing vessels and canal boats. They’ll explain what threatens the lake’s collection of shipwrecks and what can be done to protect and preserve underwater resources.

Museum admission is $10 for adults and $6 for children 5 to 17. Children under 5 are free.
