Senator Patrick Leahy is scheduled to address the Democratic National Convention next week.
Leahy — chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee — will take the podium in Denver on Tuesday, a day the party plans to highlight the theme of "Renewing America’s Promise."
Leahy will take a turn speaking to the delegates along with a several other governors and senators.
The headline prime-time speaker will be New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, who was defeated by Illinois Senator Barack Obama in the primaries.
