Senator Patrick Leahy’s chief of staff is leaving his post. Luke Albee has worked for Leahy for 20 years, serving as chief of staff since 1993. Albee is going to work as a lobbyist with a Washington firm.

He says that after 20 years it is simply time for him to move on. Albee says his two decades with Leahy have been a remarkable political education. Leahy says he will miss Albee. He calls him the best chief of staff on Capitol Hill.

U.S. Senator Jim Jeffords calls Albee’s political instincts legendary, saying Albee has, “a tremendous ability to make things happen.”
