The University of Vermont women’s basketball team welcomed a new head coach this month. Lori Gear McBride takes over after a stellar season under departing coach Sharon Dawley. The Cats were 27-7 and upset Wisconsin in the opening round of the NCAA Division One tournament.
Gear McBride has been head coach at Colby College in Waterville, Maine for the past 5 seasons. Last season she led that team to its best record ever, finishing 24 and 5. She spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about her new position.
