Maple syrup production rises in Vermont

Maple syrup production rose 12% in Vermont and 13% in Maine this year, while production nationwide increased 17%.

New England agriculture statistics show that Vermont was the #1 syrup state with 460,000.

Maine was the #2 state with a total of 300,000 gallons, followed by New York.

Elsewhere in New England, New Hampshire produced 64,000 gallons of syrup, Massachusetts had 40,000 gallons and Connecticut came in at ten-thousand gallons.
